Needle in a Haystack

Some have likened falling in love to finding a needle in a haystack.  Imagine finding “the one” in L.A. (now that’s a haystack!) and discovering he is from the same small area of Southern Oregon that she came from…that’s just a straw of hay short of a miracle!  That is a page of this couple’s history.  Dana and Michelle both spent a portion of their lives not knowing the other in neighboring cities in the left bottom corner of Oregon to eventually falling in love in the “City of Angels” aka Los Angeles.

This was a last minute wedding that was added to my books (so thankful it was open just for this couple)  So,  I only had phone conversations with the bride and groom, and not knowing their last names I couldn’t properly investigate this couple (you know…on facebook).  I walked up to the lodge without a clue of what I was getting myself into.  Arriving into the bride’s suite I was met by Michelle and I heaved a huge sigh of relief (hopefully it was silent).  Every bride is beautiful but Michelle’s beauty was radiating from inside and she was gorgeous outwardly also (Double bonus)!

Shortly after meeting Michelle I ventured down the hallway to meet Dana.  I’m not going to lie my eyebrow raised as I heard his name.  Then I reminded myself of one of my best friend’s dad, Leslie.  I had determined then and there that even though his gender neutral name tipped the scales more in the female persuasion that like Les he was probably handsome and one of the manliest men that I would meet.  (And seriously who was I to judge- I named my little girl Parker!)  My self-proclaimed philosophy did not disappoint.  Just like the beautiful bride down the hall this groom’s demeanor only enhanced his physical appearance.  I was immediately thankful I was chosen to capture their special day.

Posing these two was a dream and it only took a general direction and they fell into each other with such grace and strength.

The reception felt smooth and effortless.  Guests mingled and enjoyed each others company and the amazing scenery.  The first dance started out slow and burst into a 50’s style swing.

I feel pretty confident this bride and groom will be a “forever couple”.  Congratulations Dana and Michelle and cheers to the beginning of a lifetime together!  Your needle in the haystack has been found.
